Grown on fertile volcanic soil in deep rainforests by a co-operative of 200 farmers in Risaralda, Colombia. This is a well-balanced and smooth coffee variety with syrupy fruity notes that transition to a milk chocolate aftertaste.
Our Colombia Lucero is grown by a co-operative of 200 farmers in Risaralda, Colombia. The region has a naturally high altitude of between 1600 and 2000 metres above sea level, and is blessed with volcanic mineral rich soil, committed farmers and a unique microclimate created by weather systems from both the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans colliding. As such the region has produced specialty coffee for decades.
Once harvested the coffee crop is fully washed by the coffee farms and then transported to the Trilladora Santa Teresita, a renowned milling and processing facility where the beans are patio dried or tumble dried and rigorously quality checked before export.
This is a well-balanced and smooth coffee variety with syrupy fruity notes that transitions to a milk chocolate aftertaste. Best roasted to a medium profile or medium-dark roast for a medium body and to shine through the acidity. It’s an excellent candidate for filtered brewing or for milk-based coffee. Not the brewing type, dial up the roast to a dark roast and smooth out the acidity and sweetness.
